Popcorn!

Tiffany decided to have a carnival for her 30th birthday.  So the popcorn cupcakes were created to keep with the theme.  The macerated marshmallows top vanilla butterceam on chocolate and vanilla cake.  The wrappers were hand cut from striped scrapbook paper....
In all honesty a guest at the party grabbed what he thought was a cup of popcorn and was surprised to find himself chewing on a marshmallow.

Summer Birthdays

Toy Story!  Cesar celebrated with a Woody themed party.
The cake is pineapple cake with buttercream for the top tier and pecan cake for the bottom.

Tequila!

The birthday girl's poison of choice is tequila... so here it is.   The cake is chocolate with chocolate buttercream covered in marshmallow fondant.  I saw a photo online of the birthday girl holding the entire cake upside down pretending to drink from it.  Guess she'd already had some real tequila.

Happy 50th Anniversary

Fifty years of marriage is a big deal!  This family celebrated with a huge party.  For their cake they wanted to recreate their parents wedding cake.  The original cake was very simple white cake with buttercream icing.  This time around the bride requested Italian Cream Cake with cream cheese icing.  Delicous!  The cake topper is the original topper from their wedding cake.

Think Pink for Breast Cancer Awareness

Tere has a reason to celebrate!  She just finished all of the treatments for her breast cancer.  In the spirit of the occassion, I created a woman's bust in a pink and black corset top.  The cake itself is red velvet with cream cheese icing covered in fondant.

Edible silver dragees tie in the silver necklace around the neck area of the bust

On the necklace is a silver fondant flip-flop like the one Tere wears to remind her of her love of Kawaii.

Here's what Tere had to say about her cake:
"I had to send you an email to let you know what a hit the cake was at the party on Saturday night. Everyone not only loved the design, but they were all going on and on about how great the cake was.
So many people made the comment that, many times the cake looks great and then the cake part isn't that good. They were loving the cake!
Thank you so much for making the party such a success! It was perfect and exactly what I wanted to celebrate the end of my cancer treatment."

Cupcakes of the Month

I have a corporate client that celebrates their employees' birthdays on the last Friday of the month.  They let me get as creative as I like with the only stipulation being that half of them must involve chocolate.  Here we have June's delivery.

Tastefully Artistic

Two dozen cupcakes iced to look like Van Gogh's "Starry Starry Night."

Presented on a tray complete with a golden frame.

What a Girl Wants...

The Birthday Girl had definite opinions about her cake. She even put her design to paper in purple crayon. She wanted multiple tiers. The entire cake was to be purple and have pink hearts on it - except the top tier which was just to have candles that her mom would put on once the party started.

Birthday at Tiffany's

My dear friend Kia loves Audrey Hepburn so when she asked me to make her birthday cake I thought I'd get creative. I made a fondant cutout of her favorite actress to top her requested red velvet cake with cream cheese icing. The candle sits at the end of her cigarette.
